Although of very ancient origin, we are even talking about the first millennium, the credit for the development of Ron was attributed to Christopher Columbus, who in 1493, during his second voyage to the Americas, is said to have taken sugar cane cuttings in the Canary Islands and transplanted them in the Caribbean.<\/p>\n

The Ron Ligero<\/h2>\n

But the first documented distillation of Ron dates back to the 17th century in the Caribbean. At that time, slaves realized that a distillate could be produced from the fermentation of molasses. This distillate was consumed without aging and probably at full strength.<\/p>\n

Today, Cuban ron is known as a light and precious distillate, filtered and clarified, with a soft and never overpowering taste.<\/p>\n
