“Ron Cubano is an expression of who we are and what we want to be. Drinking a drink of Ron Cubano is like taking an exotic journey into the world of aromas and flavors that grow in the Cuban countryside, it is savoring a different fragrance so that it remains over time, like something that is not forgotten.”.

SaoCan brand

SaoCan has its roots in the Cuban tradition since 1878, the year in which Josè Arechabala began the first production of Aguardiente and Ron in the city of Cardenas.

This small Ronera distillery in Cardenas benefited from the presence of a railway and a very active port.

With its derivatives of molasses and raw sugar, it is one of the oldest distilleries in Cuba of alcohol, liqueurs and Ron.

The Saocan brand has been recognized and widespread in Cuba since the mid-19th century. Its roots come from the sugar plantations of Cardenas, often cultivated by the indigenous population of Aruaco Taino.

The name SaoCan derives from the fusion of Saoco and Canchanchara, well-known Cuban cocktails from the 1700s, even before the birth of the Mojito. It is known and highly regarded for its Aguardiente.

It is in this factory, in 1934, that the internationally recognized Ron Havana Club was produced for the first time.

SaoCan brand Ron also includes SaoCan Aguardiente, SaoCan Carta Blanca 3, SaoCan Añejo 7 and SaoCan Elixir 7.

Ron Cubay Brand

The Ron tradition was born in the central region of the country in the mid-19th century, in the regions of Santa Clara and Cienfuegos, where spirits, alcohols and Ron were created that have characterized the central region of the country.

La Ronera Central was founded in 1972 and is located in the municipality of Santo Domingo, in the province of Villa Clara.

It all started from the Bodegas Jagua where, between the 60s and 70s, small quantities of barrels began to arrive from the Bodega “El Infierno”, with the aim of increasing production capacity.

In 1972, a tragic fire broke out at the Bodega Jagua facility, forcing its owners to demolish what remained of the centuries-old cellar and relocate in an old cotton farm in Santo Domingo, Villa Clara.
There, after long and uninterrupted days of work, today’s “Ronera Central” was born.

The distillery is fully functional with photovoltaic panels which, in addition to providing the energy required for its own use, also provide energy for the people adjacent to the distillery.

The Ron Cubay brand has a wide range of products that enhance the typical expression of the “sweet taste of the middle of the island” and which also preserve the tradition of light Cuban rum, from Ron Cubay Añejo to Ron Cubay Carta Blanca Extra Viejo and Ron Cubay 1870 Extra Añejo, with the Protected Designation of Origin Cuba label (DOP Cuba).

Santiago de Cuba Brand

The first distillery for the production of Ron Ligero was founded in 1862 in the city of Santiago de Cuba.

From that year, in the cellar called “Nave Don Pancho”, the production of one of the most authentic products of the island began which is also a representation of the flavors and culture of the Cuban people.

To this day, the production of Ron Cubano is dictated according to the traditions of that time, from the distillation method to the aging method up to the mixing method, all following the ancient recipes.

Ron Santiago de Cuba is still produced in the first distillery on the island, where the oldest and most wonderful reserves of Cuban rum are secretly kept.

The distillery uses a wide range of products, from Ron Carta Blanca, to the classic Santiago Anejo 8 Years and then continues with the 11, 12 and 20 years of aging.

Kawama Brand

Kawama is the new brand of Ron Cubano born in 2020 in the Ronera Cárdenas, located in the Matanzas region.

The name Kawama derives from the mythological context of the “caguama” turtle, once venerated by local tribes as the mother of mankind.

Even after the passing of centuries and the Spanish domination, the tradition remained alive.

The Kawama Cuban Ron line adopts the spirit and symbol of the Caribbean turtle and is a Ron that can be tasted in all regions of the world.

Towards the end of 2020, the first Kawama products were created: Kawama Silver Dry, Kawama Añejo and Kawama Elixir; and Kawama Extra Añejo 13 and 19 were also produced at the customer’s request.

Isla del Tesoro

The Ron Isla del Tesoro is one of the jewels of the Bodegas de Añejamiento de la Ronera Santiago de Cuba.

Its presentation bears history, it is a reminder of the treasures stolen in the attacks of corsairs and pirates.

The bottle alludes to those that have been thrown into the sea with a letter inside and its placement in the sand inside the case represents the arrival of that message at a beach.
