International Book Fair

In February, the spectacular La Cabaña fortress in Havana is converted into a large open-air library every year.

Each edition pays homage to a group of Cuban writers and dedicates a space to a country.

During the month of March, the fair travels through the different provinces of Cuba.

International Festival Old Havana: City in Motion

In April, the streets of Old Havana are filled with all kinds of artistic events: exhibitions, classical and modern dance, crafts, parades and concerts in the squares bring out a lively atmosphere of creativity.

Romerías de Mayo

The Romerías de Mayo (Pilgrimage of May) is a tradition of the city of Holguín and consisting of a Christian celebration that culminates in sumptuous meals and long libations.

The festivities take place every year from 2 to 8 May, combining tradition and modernity to thus convert the city of Holguín into the Capital of Young Art and the World Festival of Artistic Youth.

Festival Santa Blues

The Santa Blues Festival is particularly aimed at blues lovers, where concerts are held simultaneously on various stages with international artists throughout the month of June on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Fiestas Sanjuaneras a Trinidad

The city of Trinidad hosts, for a few days each year around June 24th, a carnival that is not limited to parties and dances. It includes a variety of activities promoting the local culture.

It originates from Spain and adorns the streets with parades displaying colorful costumes, floats, games and contests.

Fiesta del Fuego

The Fiesta del Fuego (Festival of Fire) is held annually the 28th of June until the 5th of July and is a riot of music, color and joy, with fire rituals and electronic music played by top DJs.

It includes a series of shows, exhibitions and street celebrations with an emphasis on Caribbean culture and the highlight of the party is the Fire Parade on the final night.

Havana Biennial International Theater Festival

Every 2 years, in September, the city prepares to celebrate the great theater festival.

Companies from all over the world offer performances in the city’s emblematic stages and auditoriums.

Havana’s International Ballet Festival

During the months of October and November, the Gran Teatro of the city is festively decorated to celebrate this historic dance festival which has been taking place for over half a century and which has been able to show the world the great Cuban potential and virtuosity in the classical dance scene.

Festival Internacional de Cine Latinoamericano

The International Festival of Latin American Films takes place in Havana between the 1st and the 11th of December , to promote and reward those works whose significance and artistic value contribute to enriching and reaffirming the cultural identity of Latin America and the Caribbean.

The International Jazz Festival

The International Jazz Festival is considered to be one of the most important jazz festivals in the world. Towards the end of December, this great event attracts numerous jazz enthusiasts and interpreters from all over the world to Havana, with live performances by artists who have made the history of this musical genre.
